Storm before the Light - Pounding Jetty & crashing waves-
Just because the Sea is stormy with the weight of emotions, the light of the horizon peaks through...
Mixed Media on Canvas Board (ink, charcoal, metalic, paint marker, flexible modeling paste, foil, acrylic) - 24"x 36"
I grew up on the Coast of Carlsbad, CA. Starting in my teens, after my parents split, I would sit and read or write in a journal on the Jetty. The healing sounds of waves and vibration on rocks were very healing. I felt "home" every time, sitting for hours sometimes. I have been developing my art with emotion and during a hard time period, I started to miss the jetty, wishing I was there to sit and feel and write. I started painting. I started to paint the jetty, thinking of the waves crashing and feeling the vibrations.
I created my depth with the modeling paste for an increased emotion. So many times there is a light in the distance, like a light at the end of the tunnel, always an inspiring and uplifting positive feeling of peace and hope. -very healing
